Dr. Debbie Selby FRCP(C) is an internist by training now working exclusively as a palliative care physician. She trained at the University of Toronto completing her Internal Medicine fellowship and practicing in GIM until transitioning to full time palliative care at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Center. She has provided palliative care through the inpatient consult service, in outpatient clinic settings and now works full time in the Palliative Care Unit at Sunnybrook Hospital where she has cross appointments to the Department of Family and Community Medicine as well as to the Department of Medicine.
Research interests are varied and have included aspects of symptom management (eg malignant bowel obstructions), spiritual care and more recently Medical Assistance in Dying. She is also actively involved in teaching clinical clerks and residents both in the PCU as well as through lecture series.
