Welcome to join us in 2013 conferences—Annals of Palliative Medicine
Annals of Palliative Medicine (Ann Palliat Med; Print ISSN 2224-5820; Online ISSN 2224-5839), the official publication of Society for Translational Cancer Research (STCR), publishes articles that describe new findings in the field of palliative medicine, provides current and practical information on palliative medicine. Specific areas of interest include, but not limited to, multimodality therapy, biomarkers, imaging, biology, pathology, and technical advances related to palliative medicine. Contributions pertinent to palliative medicine are also included from related fields such as nutrition, surgery, public health, human genetics, basic sciences, education, sociology, and nursing. The aim of the Journal is to provide a forum for the dissemination of original research articles as well as review articles in all areas related to palliative medicine. It is an international, peer-reviewed journal with a focus on cutting-edge findings in this rapidly changing field, while providing practical up-to-date information on palliative medicine. The journal features a distinguished editorial board, which brings together a team of highly experienced specialists in palliative medicine. The diverse experience of the board members allows our editorial panel to lend their expertise to a broad spectrum of palliative medicine subjects.
In order to increase the exposure of the Annals of Palliative Medicine (APM) to more professionals, the editorial team of the journal is attending 2013 conferences including ASCO’s 49th annual meeting in Chicago at June, American Society of Radiation Oncology’s (ASTRO) 55th annual meeting in Atlanta at September, 15th World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC 2013) in Sydney at October and The American Heart Association (AHA Annual Scientific Sessions 2013) in Dallas at November, to introduce this palliative journal to targeted researchers, oncologists, radiation physicians, etc.
ASCO’s 49th annual meeting
ASCO’s 49th Annual Meeting, held at McCormick Place, May 31-June 4, 2013, in Chicago, IL, is the premier educational and scientific event in the oncology community (http://am.asco.org/). The Meeting highlights the most advanced treatments, products, and services in oncology to more than 25,000 oncology professionals with the aim of “Building Bridges to Conquer Cancer”. The APM editorial team exhibited the journal in the Publishers Pavilion of ASCO. Figure 1 is one of the Editorial Board Members, Dr. Elżbieta Nowara from Centrum Onkologii Instytut Oddział w Gliwicach, Poland visiting our booth.
ASTRO’s 55th annual meeting
ASTRO Annual Meeting (ASTRO 2013), to be held in Atlanta, USA at September 22 to 25, 2013, is the largest radiation oncology meeting Targeting Cancer Care. It will focus on patient-centered care and the importance of the physician’s role in helping with patient reported outcomes and the quality and safety of patient care. Our Booth is No. 516 (Figure 2).
The 15th WCLC
The 15th World Conference on Lung Cancer takes place at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre, Sydney, Australia from October 27 through 30, 2013. The conference is one of the largest international gatherings in the field of lung cancer and thoracic oncology with a stellar scientific program and well known faculty, highlighting the most advanced treatments, clinical trials and studies in thoracic oncology and lung cancer. It will bring together leaders in the field of thoracic oncology and lung cancer from across North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Australasia. Our booth stands at No. 500 in the Exhibition Hall (Figure 3).
AHA Annual Scientific Sessions 2013
The American Heart Association (AHA) Scientific Sessions 2013 is to be held at the Dallas Convention Center, Dallas, Texas, USA from November 17th to November 19th. It is the leading cardiovascular meeting for basic, translational, clinical and population science, in the United States, with more 18,000 cardiovascular experts from more than 105 countries, in addition to more than 1.5 million virtual professional attendees, leading the way to discovery in the fight against cardiovascular disease and stroke. Our booth stands at No.1114 in the exhibition hall (Figure 4).
Join us in these conferences
Besides increasing its exposure to more professionals, we believe APM’s appearance in these conferences would also provide the opportunity for editorial office to communicate with Editorial Board Members, reviewers, authors and readers, collecting their wisdom and suggestions to eventually improve the journal with educational and informative content of knowledge and experience for health workers, medical students involved in palliative care and patients as well.
