Dr. Alexander Gamble completed training in combined internal medicine and psychiatry as well as a fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine. His practice experience includes care of patients in rural, urban, and suburban settings with a focus on the delivery of high-quality palliative care informed by the holistic biopsychosocial perspective of his combined training background. In addition to teaching learners from a variety of disciplines and training levels, he has written and lectured nationally on topics within Palliative Care and at the interface of mental health and hospice & palliative medicine.

In his present role within the Palliative Care Section at Stanford University, Dr. Gamble works as part of the interdisciplinary teams on both the inpatient consultation service as well as the outpatient clinic, while continuing to pursue his interests in program development, education, and the integration of psychiatric and psychotherapeutic tools and concepts into the practice of palliative care.
